MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Coalition for Consumer Choice (WCCC) today appointed Marvin Walker as president of its Board of Directors. A 30-year veteran in consumer and governmental affairs who makes his home in Glendale, Wis., Walker will provide Milwaukee residents an experienced local voice for consumer choice.
The WCCC is an advocacy organization of more than 15,000 citizens and community-based organizations committed to defending and protecting Wisconsin consumer choice and the rights of Wisconsin citizens to make their own decisions, and Walker shares that vision.
In fact, Walker is a proven Milwaukee advocate who has worked with a wide array of stakeholder groups and neighborhood associations in the metro area. He is currently the CEO of Marvin L. Walker & Associates Inc. and an active member of various civic and church groups in the Milwaukee metropolitan area.
“It is the concept of choice that attracted me to this organization, and in speaking with my fellow residents, I have found consumer choice is often limited in Milwaukee,” Walker said. “Access to credit is one of the top issues facing residents and consumers in Milwaukee. The WCCC believes now is the time to increase or improve options for Wisconsin consumers, not reduce or eliminate them.”
“Walker brings extensive experience in local civic and political engagement to WCCC,” George Klaetsch, Executive Director of WCCC, said. “He will ensure consumers have a voice in consumer debates in Wisconsin as well as the greater Milwaukee area.”
The Wisconsin Coalition for Consumer Choice is an advocacy organization of more than 15,000 citizens and community-based organizations, committed to defending and protecting consumer choices, privacy and identity in the consumer marketplace. WCCC identifies and educates Wisconsin consumers and consumer organizations about how and why consumer choice is currently threatened by state government and the policies that have been, or will be, proposed.
